About
Mr. Amjad’s advanced training includes a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, renowned centres for adult vitreoretinal surgery. He also completed a paediatric fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he became one of a select few surgeons globally skilled in endoscopic vitreo-retinal surgery. Additionally, he is one of only four specialists in the UK qualified to perform retinal surgeries for neonates and infants with retinopathy of prematurity.
He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals and contributed to a book chapter on paediatric retino-vascular diseases.
Areas of Expertise:
• Paediatric Retinal Conditions: Retinopathy of prematurity, Coats disease, Familial Exudative Vitreo Retinopathy (FEVR), and retinal detachment.
• Adult Retinal Conditions: Diabetic vitrectomy, epiretinal membrane, macular holes, and trauma-related retinal issues.
• Cataract Surgery: High-volume cataract surgery, including complex cases and surgical correction of aphakia.
• Laser and Intravitreal Treatments: Treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and diabetic retinopathy (DR).
