Informazioni

Graham is a specialist hip and knee surgeon and was appointed as a consultant in Cambridge in 1997. As a consultant, he has since undertaken over 9,000 surgical procedures, including over 4,500 hip replacement, resurfacing hip replacement and revision hip replacement procedures and over 600 knee replacements. Joint replacement surgery may be for joint pain & stiffness, OA, osteoarthritis, RA, rheumatoid arthritis, RA, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory arthritis, etc., with pain and swelling affecting the hip or knee. His clinical interests are especially lower limb reconstructive surgery; this includes hip and knee arthroplasty (hip replacement, hip resurfacing, hip revision replacement and knee replacement) and arthroscopic (key hole) surgery for the hip and knee.

At the Cambridge Nuffield Hospital Graham has been using the Stryker MAKO robotic arm to assist with joint replacement surgery. He typically undertakes cemented hip replacements, with an Exeter or CPT stem, or an hybrid replacement using the Trilogy or Trident cup and a ceramic head.

Graham has experience with hip resurfacing and uses the Adept Hip Resurfacing and Birmingham Hip Resurfacing.

Graham practices at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, The Cambridge Nuffield Hospital and Cambridge Lea Hospital. His private clinics are on a Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning, but some additional times are available if necessary.

His particular interests include:

i. Investigation of unexplained hip pain, bursitis, clicking hips, snapping tendons, early osteoarthritis, adductor tendon pain, impingement, labral tears and FAI

ii. Total hip replacement surgery; primary and revision

iii. Hip resurfacing replacement with the Adept Hip or Birmingham Hip.

iv. Arthroscopic hip preservation surgery, for labral tears, hip femoroacetabular impingement or FAI

v. Arthroscopic knee surgery for the meniscus or meniscal tears or sports injury.

vi. Total knee replacement surgery.

vii. Medicolegal reporting for personal injury and litigation.

viii. General trauma surgery

My outcome data for joint replacement surgery is recorded on the National Joint Registry. My revision rate for hip replacement surgery is below the 99.8% centile, with 15 revisions recorded against an expected 39 to March 2019 in the 1873 recorded hip replacement procedures for the past 10 years. My revision rate for knee replacement surgery is just above the 95% centile, with 8 revisions recorded against an expected 8 to March 2019 in the 415 primary knee replacement procedures for the past 10 years. My 90-day surgery risk adjusted mortality rate for hip surgery is below the national average and for knee surgery equals the national average.
