About Mr Martin Davison
Mr. Martin Davison is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as knee arthroscopy. He graduated with distinction from the University of Glasgow Medical School and further enhanced his expertise through the prestigious 'Advanced Hip Fellowship' in Bristol. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a BSc MedSci in Musculoskeletal Science from the University of Glasgow, further reflecting his dedication to his field. Mr. Davison is the vice chair of the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit steering group and serves as the hip fracture and trauma lead in NHS Lanarkshire. He is committed to the comprehensive care of patients, particularly those who are vulnerable due to hip fractures. His approach emphasises holistic care, ensuring that every aspect of the patient’s journey is handled with precision and care, from the initial consultation and diagnosis to shared decision-making, surgery, and post-operative recovery. He is proficient in performing primary, complex, and revision hip replacements, and his expertise also includes computer-navigated total knee replacements, which allow for greater surgical precision, as well as knee arthroscopy. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Davison has been an editorial board member of Hip International since 2019, where he evaluates global research for publication. He is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, actively engaged in medical education and serving as an examiner. His commitment to teaching is demonstrated by his role as a tutor on various courses at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
