Her academic career commenced by earning her MBBS with distinction from Sir JJ Medical College in Mumbai, followed by MS (General Surgery) from TNMC and B.Y.L Nair Hospital, Mumbai, where she was the top performer in her university. She further pursued a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Walden University, USA.
Dr. Mamta’s international recognition is reflected through her prestigious memberships and fellowships, such as MRCS (Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, UK), FCPhleb (Fellowship of the College of Phlebology, UK), FMAS (Fellowship in Minimal Invasive Surgery), FIAGES (Fellowship of the Indian Association of Gastroenterological Surgeons), and the prestigious Fellowship in Venous Surgeries from College of Phlebology, UK.
Dr Arora has advanced expertise in the management of Varicose Veins and has performed innovative procedures such as Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Laser therapy, Microwave ablation, Sclerotherapy, perforator ablation, and Venaseal glue ablation. Notably, she has the distinction to be the first surgeon in UAE to perform the VENASEAL glue treatment for Varicose Veins in 2015. She has successfully perfomed more than 4000 cases of Varicose Veins Endovenous treatment hitherto since 2012.
She has also played a significant role in training her peers and colleagues in the complexities of Venous surgeries, conducting multiple hands-on international workshops, and establishing a dedicated Vein Clinic at NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE. She often gets invited to conduct hands-on Variocse Veins surgical workshops.
In 2019, Dr Arora introduced Laser Proctology treatments at her hospital. She has also received specialised training in MIVAT and MIVAP techniques for Thyroid and Parathyroid surgeries from IRCAD, Taiwan and is adept in performing neck surgeries. She is proficient in management of varied Breast Disorders and cancer screening. She is actively invloved in Breast Cancer education programmes at NMC Healthcare and is a key member of the hospital’s Tumour Board.
As a member of the Academic Faculty, Dr Arora revels in mentoring students, new inductees and junior colleagues in navigating the complexities of surgical practice, bedside manners and clinical decision making. In addition, she has contributed to medical research through published articles and participation in multiple international clinical trials.
Dr. Arora is a prominent member of the hospital’s Quality and Patient safety committee besides playing an integral role in the Operating Theater committee. She has tapped into her MHA training to lead interdisciplinary teams and implement quality improvement initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). She is often consulted to support and offer insights to her peers in managing challenging and high-stakes scenarios through collaborative problem-solving.
Her clinical expertise covers a broad range of procedures, including hernia repairs, gallstone surgeries, appendectomies, abdominoplasty, breast surgeries, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, pilonidal sinus treatments, and cyst and lump removals. She is particularly skilled and excels in various Endovenous treatments for Varicose Veins, including Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Laser therapy, Microwave ablation, Sclerotherapy, perforator ablation, and Venaseal glue ablation.
Her linguistic proficiency in English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Marathi, and Gujarati enables effective communication with a diverse patient population.
