Her specialist interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, neck dissections, salivary gland tumours and ductal stone disease, advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, soft tissue tumours, and both general and laparoscopic surgery. Dr Cao was awarded a Master of Philosophy in Medicine by the University of Sydney for her thesis examining the surgical management of secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism. Her ongoing research interests include head and neck surgical oncology, endocrine surgery, and initiatives aimed at improving patient safety and quality of care.
