Dr Hristo Grancarov is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in total hip and knee replacement, lower limb reconstructive surgery, and orthopaedic trauma. Dr Grancarov currently works as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at Healthpoint Hospital, Abu Dhabi, and has previously held full-time consultant posts at NMC Royal Hospital. Prior to relocating to the UAE, he ran a successful private practice in Slovenia while also serving as a consultant at the General Hospital of Murska Sobota.
He qualified as a medical doctor in Sofia, Bulgaria, and completed specialist training and board certification in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in both Bulgaria and Slovenia. He later obtained UAE licensure after successfully completing the DHA examination. His early career included extensive experience in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, and orthopaedic reconstruction at major university and regional hospitals.
Dr Grancarov has undertaken a wide range of advanced international training courses across Europe and the Middle East, including AO Recon programmes in complex total hip and knee replacement, revision surgery, and periprosthetic joint infection, as well as formal training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and arthroscopy.
He is a member of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, the Bulgarian Orthopaedic Society, and the Slovenian Orthopaedic Society, and regularly attends international congresses and specialist workshops.
