Mrs Gisela Oates is a highly qualified psychotherapist and addiction counsellor with over two decades of experience supporting individuals, couples, children 12+, adolescents, and families. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy alongside professional certificates in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Reality Therapy. Additionally, she has an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision and a Diploma in Addiction Studies.
Since founding Serenity Counselling in Newbridge in 2007, Mrs Oates has developed a broad therapeutic practice encompassing art therapy, trauma counselling, addiction support, and relationship therapy. In 2014, she joined CBT Solutions in Clondalkin, expanding her work to include online and phone consultations.
Mrs Oates works from a humanistic and integrative approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs and strengths. She offers individual, couple, and family therapy, including systemic family sessions and genogram assessments. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, bereavement, anger management, and behavioural challenges in children and adolescents.
