Dr. Ashton found that this approach allowed her to meet complex trauma with greater compassion, effectiveness, and depth—creating safety for clients to connect more fully with their minds and bodies in a way that supports profound and lasting change.
To further expand her therapeutic toolkit, Georgie Ashton later trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She carefully integrates EMDR within her trauma-informed practice, recognising that for complex and attachment trauma, EMDR is most effective when combined with the foundational principles and safety provided by Hakomi and other somatic approaches.
