About Dr John Whitaker
Dr. John Whitaker is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London. With extensive experience in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular devices, Dr. Whitaker specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. His clinical practice is complemented by a strong commitment to academic research and teaching, with a focus on advancing cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Whitaker obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (BM BCh) with merit from the University of Oxford. He later pursued a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology and imaging at King’s College London, where he also served as an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow. His postgraduate training included roles as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a Cardiology Trainee specialising in electrophysiology and devices with the London Deanery at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Whitaker also gained international experience as a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A leader in his field, Dr. Whitaker combines his clinical expertise with a passion for research and education, regularly engaging in academic projects and contributing to scientific advancements in cardiology.
