About
He built his reputation as an excellent surgeon with his precision and careful approach to spinal surgery and the treatment of complex spinal disorders.
Dr de la Harpe received his MBBS from the University of Melbourne in 1989 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1999. He later completed a Master of Surgery degree at the University of Melbourne and completed another Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK.
He has held consultant positions at hospitals in Australia where he specialised in complex spinal surgery.
He currently uses his orthopaedic expertise as a founding member of the Orthopaedics Victoria group, operating at both Epworth Richmond Hospital and Epworth Eastern Hospital, Victoria.
He has expertise in the following areas of orthopaedic surgery:
• Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders
• Microdiscectomy
• Complex spinal surgery
• Trauma
He also has expertise in chiropractic having qualified as a chiropractor from RMIT University in 1990.
Dr de la Harpe is also a member of the Spine Society and is a patron of the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australia.
