Dr Yasser Kassem is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Associate Professor in Anaesthesia and Critical Care with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience. He serves as Head of Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care and has worked across healthcare systems in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
His clinical practice covers the provision of anaesthesia for adult, paediatric, and elderly patients across a wide range of surgical specialties. He has extensive experience in perioperative care and intensive care medicine, with responsibility for the management of critically ill patients in high-dependency and intensive care settings.
Dr Kassem’s specialist expertise includes advanced airway management, tracheostomy procedures, haemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic bronchoscopy, and chronic renal replacement therapy. He is experienced in delivering anaesthetic care for complex surgical cases and coordinating multidisciplinary critical care services.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in teaching and academic training in anaesthesia and critical care medicine. He contributes to the supervision and development of trainees and supports ongoing medical education within hospital departments.
He maintains an active focus on updating clinical practice in line with developments in anaesthesia, intensive care, and perioperative medicine.
