Sumitra Patel
Psychotherapy
About
She draws on multiple therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, IPT, psychodynamic and person-centred therapy, adapting each session to the unique needs of the individual. Her work is rooted in the belief that therapy should be flexible and collaborative, offering space for self-awareness and emotional growth.
Sumitra has worked across NHS and private mental health settings, including forensic services, eating disorder units, personality disorder services, rehabilitation for psychosis, and general outpatient psychiatry. She supports adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, grief, emotional dysregulation and relationship difficulties, as well as those experiencing work-related stress.
She is fluent in English and Gujarati.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
