About Dr Simon Broughton
Dr. Simon Broughton has been working in Paediatrics since 1995 and has been a Consultant since 2007. He currently practices in London at King’s College Hospital and Grosvenor Gardens Healthcare, where he has been based since 2022. Dr. Broughton completed his medical degree at the University of Southampton in 1994 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He was awarded a PhD in 2007 for his research on the long-term consequences of bronchiolitis in prematurely born infants. Dr. Broughton focuses on developing systems of care to enhance patient safety, with a particular interest in the early recognition and prompt management of clinical deterioration in unwell children. He has held senior managerial roles within the NHS, as well as regional and national positions in education and training. In his clinical practice, Dr. Broughton provides a wide range of services for children aged from birth to 16 years, managing general paediatric issues and acute conditions. He is highly experienced in handling respiratory tract infections, coughs, wheezing, constipation, abdominal pain, headaches, fatigue, and malaise. Dr. Broughton’s clinics are located in Dulwich and Belgravia with Grosvenor Gardens Healthcare, and he has recently expanded to a new practice in Marylebone with Central Health London. For Dr. Broughton, the most crucial aspect of healthcare delivery is working collaboratively with the family and child to ensure a management plan that is agreed upon by all parties. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Broughton has a strong research background. He completed his PhD in 2009 and has authored over 35 publications, many of which have been widely recognised and cited by his peers.
