After completing his basic medical training, he went on to The St George's psychiatric training scheme in South West London until 2006. He achieved his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPysch) qualification in 2010. He subsequently enrolled in a leadership course organised by the NHS Leadership Academy, partnering with Manchester and Birmingham Universities as well as the Kings Fund. In 2013, he achieved his Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Leadership and Service Improvement.
