About Dr Sherylin Thompson
Dr Sherylin Thompson is a chartered counselling psychologist and trained psychotherapist. They work with adults as individuals and couples. Dr Thompson is experienced in helping their clients work through a range of life's difficulties. These may be long-term struggles or more recent upsetting events. Dr Thompson is also experienced in helping with psychological symptoms. Dr Thompson has worked clinically in a number of settings and with clients from a variety of backgrounds and presenting difficulties. These settings have spanned hospital contexts, not-for-profit organisations as well as private practice. Dr Thompson is also very pleased to hear from private individuals considering entering counselling. Dr Thompson has trained to doctoral level in psychology and in addition trained as a psychotherapist. Post qualifying, they went on to do specialist training in working with couples, brief-term trauma therapy (EMDR) as well as third-wave or most recent developments in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness (MBCT). Their therapeutic modality is integrative psychology. This means that they blend approaches and techniques depending on the individual they are working with.
