Sean Thunder is an IACP-accredited psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. His journey into therapy began later in life after returning to education in 2015, bringing with him a wealth of real-world experience. Sean now works in private practice offering in-person, online, and phone counselling, and serves as an in-house Gambling Addiction Therapist at several family resource centres in Dublin.
Sean provides a supportive, down-to-earth space where clients can explore personal challenges such as anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, self-esteem, and workplace stress. His approach is person-centred and integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, Choice Theory, Psychoanalytic, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. He also has specialised training in recognising and responding to problem gambling (Level 9, MTU).
With a background in industrial relations and lived experience navigating change, Sean is especially attuned to work-related mental health challenges and is passionate about supporting individuals affected by gambling addiction. His work focuses not only on the individuals struggling, but also their families and support systems.
