Dr Sarah Brown is a Consultant Paediatrician with a subspecialist focus in paediatric respiratory medicine. She graduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School, University of London, in 2000, completing a BSc in Clinical Immunology and Cell Pathology alongside her medical degree. During her medical school elective at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, she worked in paediatric trauma, an experience that sparked her commitment to caring for children.
Following her return to the UK, Dr Brown undertook training posts in medicine and surgery in London before completing comprehensive specialist training in general paediatrics and neonatology. An appointment at the Royal Brompton Hospital inspired her to pursue subspecialty training in paediatric respiratory medicine. She completed advanced respiratory training across leading centres including the Royal Brompton Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, alongside a two-year research degree at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
In 2015, Dr Brown was appointed Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the Royal London Hospital, where she also serves as Clinical Lead for the paediatric respiratory service. She combines clinical expertise with research and service leadership to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care for children with respiratory conditions.
Dr Brown is an active member of the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the British Paediatric Respiratory Society, the British Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society. Through her clinical practice, research and leadership roles, she remains dedicated to improving respiratory health outcomes for children and advancing the field of paediatric respiratory medicine.
