About

Dr Morando qualified as a doctor from Torino Medical School, Italy, in 2003, where she also trained as a psychiatrist. She has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the NHS and in the

private sector for more than 12 years, in eating disorders, personality disorders and psychotherapy services. She has a special interest in eating disorders, ADHD, autism, OCD, trauma and psychotherapy.

She has been working with eating disorders for 20 years and with ADHD and

autism for more than 4 years. She trained in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches

and is currently providing mentalization based therapy (MBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She is a mentalization based treatment supervisor and is supervising NHS teams through the Anna Freud Centre, where she also supports the delivery of mentalization based therapy training. She is passionate about research and teaching and completed a PhD at University College London, with a dissertation on Mentalizing in Eating Disorders. She is an honorary clinical lecturer at UCL and a module lead for the MSc in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition, where she is supervising several research projects. She is actively involved in teaching and research in eating disorders and has authored a number of publications and book chapters. She regularly trains GPs and other professionals on eating disorders. She has been a Responsible Officer since 2021 and has a strong interest in clinical governance and clinical leadership.

Her warm, reflective, non-judgmental and creative personality and her extensive clinical, pharmacological and psychotherapeutic knowledge allow her to develop a holistic and
