Samantha’s ophthalmology training took place in the South West, including several years at Bristol Eye Hospital and a dedicated year focusing on oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. She then completed a fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital, and lacrimal surgery at East Grinstead, a centre renowned for treating patients with facial nerve palsy. Following this, she worked as a consultant in Sheffield, but her strong connection to Bristol led her back when an opportunity to return arose.
Passionate about education, Samantha holds a master’s degree in medical education. She plays an active role in teaching within her clinical practice, has authored educational materials, and contributes to national surgical simulation courses. Outside of work, Samantha is an avid singer and enjoys performing in local pubs and with the Bristol Eye Hospital band.
