Prof. Dr. med. Rüdiger Hilker-Roggendorf absolvierte sein Studium der Humanmedizin an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster und an der Universität zu Köln. Im Jahr 1997 promovierte er an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Seine Facharztausbildung für Neurologie schloss er an der Neurologischen Universitätsklinik Köln ab. Im Jahr 2004 habilitierte Prof. Dr. med. Hilker-Roggendorf an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln und erhielt die Venia legendi für das Fach Neurologie.
Zusätzlich zu seiner medizinischen Ausbildung erwarb Prof. Dr. med. Hilker-Roggendorf einen Master of Health Business Administration (MHBA) am Lehrstuhl für Gesundheitsmanagement der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Prof. Dr. med. Hilker-Roggendorf ist Facharzt für Neurologie und besitzt die Zusatzbezeichnung spezielle neurologische Intensivmedizin. Er ist außerdem Ausbilder für neurovaskulären Ultraschall (DEGUM / DGKN Stufe II) und Ausbilder für neurophysiologische Diagnostik (EEG, EMG/ENG, EP) der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Klinische Neurophysiologie (DGKN). Des Weiteren hält er ein Zertifikat „Spezielle Botulinumtoxintherapie“ des Arbeitskreises Botulinumtoxin.
