Dr Ricardo Madrigal

Dr Ricardo Madrigal is a Consultant Allergist with over 15 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex allergic conditions. He currently practises at Highgate Hospital - Nuffield Health in London and serves as a consultant in the Allergy & Asthma Centre, a World Allergy Organisation Centre of Excellence, at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust in London. Trained in Spain, Dr Madrigal is one of the few physicians listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Allergy in the UK. Dr Madrigal is internationally recognised for his expertise in drug hypersensitivity and is a leading voice in the field. He is the Secretary of the Drug Hypersensitivity Reactions Committee of the World Allergy Organization and contributes to national standards as a member of the Standards of Care Committee (SOCC) of the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI). He also holds fellowships with the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FAAAAI), where he was honoured for his research contributions. He is experienced in managing a wide range of allergic conditions, such as allergic rhinitis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, anaphylaxis, venom and latex allergies, and atopic eczema. He provides specialised care for patients aged 18 and above, with services that include skin prick testing, molecular diagnostics, allergen immunotherapy, biologics for chronic spontaneous urticaria, and day case challenge testing for food and drug allergies. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Madrigal is an active researcher and educator. He has published extensively in high-impact journals and contributes to medical education through teaching engagements at medical schools and international allergy conferences. He is a member of several professional organisations, including the BSACI, SEAIC, AAAAI, EAACI, and the Perioperative Allergy Network (PAN). He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
