In the same year, Mr. Abu-Rajab was awarded the prestigious Zimmer Travelling Fellowship, allowing him to visit multiple leading specialist centres in North America, further honing his expertise. Since his appointment, he has served as a consultant at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he introduced enhanced recovery and accelerated discharge protocols to improve patient outcomes. During his tenure, he also served as Clinical Director for five years.

Mr. Abu-Rajab has a strong passion for education and innovation. He played a pivotal role in establishing and running an annual postgraduate diploma course focused on computer-assisted knee surgery, teaching surgeons the principles, applications, and practical techniques of navigated knee replacement surgery. His contributions to medical education reflect his dedication to improving surgical practice and outcomes globally.

Beyond his clinical and educational roles, Mr. Abu-Rajab is an active contributor to orthopaedic governance and policy. He is a member of the Scottish Government Advisory Group for Hip Fracture Care and serves on the Scottish Committee for Orthopaedics and Trauma, where he helps shape standards and strategies for orthopaedic treatment in Scotland.
