Professor Siôn Glyn-Jones is an internationally recognised Consultant Hip Surgeon and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Oxford, specialising in the full spectrum of adult hip conditions. He established and leads the Young Adult Hip Unit  within at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, where he undertakes all aspects of hip surgery, including hip arthroscopy, hip preservation procedures, less invasive total hip replacement for active individuals. He has a particular clinical interest in managing hip arthritis in younger and older more active patients.

Professor Glyn-Jones read medicine at Cambridge before completing his clinical training in London. He later returned to Oxford for surgical and orthopaedic training, during which he completed a DPhil. In recognition of his contributions to research, teaching and clinical care, he was awarded a Professorship in the University of Oxford’s 2014 Recognition of Distinction awards.

He leads the Oxford Hip Preservation and Young Adult Hip Units and oversees the hip research programme at Oxford University, heading a dedicated team focused on the prevention and treatment of hip osteoarthritis. His academic leadership extends nationally and internationally: he has served as the NIHR Clinical Research Network National Speciality Lead for Musculoskeletal Disorders. 

Professor Glyn-Jones is a member of several international specialist societies and teaches around the world in the field of hip arthroscopy, hip preservation and hip replacement surgery.
