About Prof Paul Leeson
Professor Paul Leeson is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist who sees private patients in Oxford and London. He completed his medical training in Cambridge and London before specialising in Cardiology. He sees patients with a range of Cardiology issues and is recognised by the British and Irish Hypertension Society as a Hypertension Specialist. He heads the Oxford Specialist Hypertension Clinic and additionally has specialist expertise in Cardiac Imaging. Professor Leeson has contributed to the development of hypertension guidelines in the UK and Europe. He is a sought-after speaker, addressing optimal blood pressure management, especially in young patients, individuals with hypertension after pregnancy, or those with challenging blood pressure control. Professor Leeson's research has introduced innovative approaches to diagnosing and managing cardiology problems. These advances have been adopted in hospitals in both the US and the UK. Professor Leeson is the author of several award-winning textbooks published in collaboration with Oxford University Press. Additionally, Professor Leeson provides independent advice and commentary to the media and other organisations on emerging cardiology developments. At Nuffield Health Oxford, Professor Leeson holds a clinic on a Thursday afternoon at which a full range of same day Cardiology investigations are available including echocardiograms, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). electrocardiograms (ECG), event monitors, cardiovascular risk profiling and comprehensive assessment of all aspects of cardiology. He also offers video consultations on a Tuesday evening with the National Heart Clinic in Harley Street, including investigations and in person appointments by arrangement.
