Professor Farhadi is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The London Clinic Hospital and at King Edward VII's Hospital, specialising in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery as well as surgery after weight loss.
He was the past Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London, United Kingdom. Prof Farhadi has an exclusive clinical focus on reconstructive breast surgery, aesthetic and corrective breast surgery. As a microsurgeon, he performs more than 160 microsurgical procedures per year. He has innovated a number of procedures over the years, e.g. the internal bra - breast lift.
As a microsurgeon he is able to offer patients the various types of reconstruction currently available, including DIEP, SGAP and TMG flaps. He has extensive experience in reconstructive surgery after double mastectomy using own tissue or implants combined with a matrix.
Prof Farhadi gained his medical degree at the University of Basel, Switzerland and the University Pitié-Salpetriè in Paris, France. His general and plastic surgical residencies were completed in Switzerland and Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Due to his experience in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, his extensive research in this area and the development of innovative surgical methods, Prof Farhadi is regularly invited to major international and national congresses and symposia as a specialist and opinion leader.
He is author of over 70 scientific papers, 18 book chapters and three books and is also Co-director of the European Master in Breast Surgery, a university qualification that enables breast and plastic surgeons to deepen their expertise in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in ten European centres.
He is the Founder and a Trustee of charity the Bra Foundation, Chairman of the London Breast Meeting and Chief Medical Officer of Affidea Cancer Treatment Centre in Switzerland.
