Professor Alister Hart is a leading Consultant Orthopaedic Hip Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic London. He also holds a Consultant Position at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He was nicknamed the "Hospital Hip Detective" by the BBC, his expertise and knowledge have gained him an enviable reputation. With over 3000 operations performed including 500 hip revision replacements, clients can be assured that they are in safe and skilled hands.

He qualified from Caius College Cambridge University in 1994 before undergoing an extensive rotational scheme in orthopaedics in London hospitals such as Guy's and St Thomas' and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). He was appointed in 2012 to the Action Medical Research Chair of Orthopaedics at UCL and honorary consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the RNOH. He is director of implant science at the RNOH (largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK), and member of The EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) committee of Implant and Patient Safety Initiative. The award-winning professor has been recognised internationally for his contributions to the field, winning awards from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2019, 2016 and 2012; from University College London for his enterprise and provost's award for public and patient involvement; from the radiological society of North America for his work into the use of MRI and Implants and from The Royal Society. He is heavily involved in research and currently focusing on aftercare and lifelong function fo the 3 million people undergoing replacements worldwide every year.

He has published 230 journal papers. His medicolegal work has been successfully used by both claimants and defendants for the UK government, implant manufacturers, surgeons, insurers and patients.

In his free time, he enjoys keeping active by mountain climbing, canoeing and camping in wild places.
