Mr Trivedi graduated from Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals Medical School in 2000 with an intercalated bachelor's degree in neuroscience. He undertook his basic surgical training at Kent Canterbury Hospital followed by higher surgical training in general and colorectal surgery on the South-West Thames Surgical Rotation. During his training, Mr Trivedi undertook a two year period of research at University College London investigating bowel dysfunction and pelvic floor problems in patients with spinal injury.
He went on to complete a fellowship in colorectal surgery at St Thomas' Hospital where he gained further experience in complex cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor problems.
Mr Trivedi has a number of publications and has presented his work nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
