Mr
Mr Philip Brousil
Urology
About
He is the Urology Cancer lead at his base NHS trust and chairs their weekly Cancer multi-disciplinary meetings regarding complex patient cancer care. He is trained in all aspects of Urological diseases with particular focus on Kidney, Bladder and Prostate Cancer. He also has a specialist interest in lower urinary tract disorders such as difficulty urinating, usually due to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Overactive Bladder, Urinary tract stones and male genital issues such as foreskin problems and scrotal swellings. He is happy to see anyone with blood in the urine or changes in their urinary habit that are causing concern.
Prior to medicine, he originally completed a degree in Mathematics following which he was a financial markets trader within derivatives at several major banks. He relinquished a career in finance when he was inspired to take up medicine after being successfully treated for an advanced cancer at a young age.
He remains fit and well many years on, but this experience has given him valuable insight into the patient perspective. This informs his empathic and caring approach when seeing patients.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
