About
Paul trained at Cambridge University and UCL and qualified in 2007. He completed a PhD investigating the role of environmental signals in the intestine in health and IBD.
Paul's NHS practice is at UCLH where he is one of the lead consultants in the IBD team looking after more than 6000 patients with Crohn's disease, UC (ulcerative colitis), coeliac disease and microscopic colitis. He runs specialist clinics for adolescents, adults and pregnant women with IBD as well as leading a large clinical trial portfolio. He also has an interest in GI disease in patients with inflammatory arthritis and uveitis as well as patients with checkpoint inhibitor colitis.
Paul is committed to offering the latest treatments and providing evidence based practice. He is the lead author of the regional IBD prescribing guidelines and regularly contributes to conferences and teaching about best practice in IBD.
Paul is an experienced endoscopist. He performs and teaches OGD (gastroscopy) and colonoscopy at UCLH and privately at the Princess Grace Hospital.
