About
Dr Burr obtained his degree in Applied Biology from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002, before completing his medical degree at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. In 2012, he returned to Yorkshire to undertake a gastroenterology research fellowship in Leeds, where his doctoral research (MD) focused on colorectal cancer in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. He continues to maintain an active research profile and has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers, review articles, and book chapters.
Dr Burr currently works as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, where he serves as Clinical Lead for Endoscopy Services and Gastroenterology Research. In addition to his clinical role, he holds a national leadership position as Clinical Lead for the National Endoscopy Database, contributing to improvements in quality standards, training, and research across digestive endoscopy services nationwide.
