A specialist in head and neck oncology, his areas of interest include: cancers of the face, mouth, jaws and neck; benign and malignant jaw tumours; neck lumps; oral cavity lesions; microsurgical facial reconstruction; benign oral lesions; salivary gland tumours and stones; facial trauma; temporomandibular joint pain, and oral and dentoalveolar surgery including wisdom teeth removal.

Having completed his higher surgical training in London, he was awarded a post-CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) fellowship in head and neck cancer surgery at the prestigious Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

In 2016, he joined Great Ormond Street Hospital as a locum consultant before taking similar posts at University College London Hospitals and Bart’s Health NHS trusts. In 2017 he became a substantive consultant at University College London Hospitals Trust and in 2020, he joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust.

Mr Alibhai’s combination of empathy and expertise make him a natural educator and he is involved in the teaching of higher surgical trainees in oral and maxillofacial surgery as an assigned educational supervisor and clinical supervisor. In 2019, he was the recipient of a patient-nominated award, an accolade which illustrates his complete commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and treating every patient as an individual.
