Dr Murtaza Pithawala is an experienced surgeon specialising in laparoscopic and laser-based procedures. He practices at Cosmocare Medical Center, as well as Zulekha Hospital and Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, where he provides advanced, minimally invasive surgical care across a wide range of conditions.
He completed his Master of Surgery degree, followed by postgraduate study achieving Diplomate of National Board (DNB). He further enhanced his expertise with a Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS, UK) in 2003 and a Fellowship of the National Board (FNB) in Minimal Access Surgery in 2007. His postgraduate training was undertaken at the prestigious Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
Dr Pithawala advanced his surgical skills through fellowship training under Padma Shri Dr P.K. Chowbey at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi who is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery in India. Here he gained extensive experience in complex and high-risk minimally invasive procedures.
His clinical practice covers the full spectrum of hernia repair and proctology, alongside cancer screening for colorectal and stomach conditions. He is also skilled in performing both upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies, delivering comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care with a focus on patient safety and optimal outcomes.
