 A Senior Consultant Haematologist with a wealth of previous experience including Head of Speciality at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust, and Honorary Senior Clinical Teacher at Imperial College.  In addition to his research activities, he has served as the Chief Investigator and also a principal investigator on multiple projects. with additional practices as Examiner at the Royal College of Physicians London (MRCP Examiner), honorary consultant at Kings College Hospital and other well-known private clinics and hospitals.  

With a comprehensive expertise covering both malignant and non-malignant haematology, he consults on all areas in haematology including but not limited to leukaemia, lymphoma, red cell disorders, and venous thromboembolism, in addition to myeloma, MPN diseases, and other blood and bone marrow diseases. He receives, investigates and manages various blood disorders and queries varying from second opinions for complicated haematological problems to simple benign blood changes. At present the large majority of his work involves malignant haematology within different UK trusts in addition to his private clinic.

An accomplished researcher, Dr Almusawy serves as the chief investigator and also a principal investigator on multiple projects.

Dr Almusawy earned his MBChB from the College of Medicine Kufa University in 1988, Studied & trained in Scandinavian hospitals and gained his board degree Specialist in General Internal Medicine and Haematology, followed by a master's degree in haemoglobinopathy from University College London. His illustrious career spans across various reputable UK hospitals, including roles at Manchester Royal Infirmary, University College of London Hospitals, Hammersmith Hospital, and the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

In 2015, Dr Almusawy became the lead consultant in haematology at Bedford Hospital, where he led haematology services, and also was chair of the haemostasis and thrombosis committee, and MDT meetings ( 3 weekly MDT meetings Leukaemia &Myeloma, Lymphoproliferative diseases, and MPN disorders) in collaboration with Addenbrooke's Hospital.

In recent years Dr Almusawy works as the Senior Consultant haematologist and Head of Specialty at London Northwest University Hospital NHS Trust. Additionally, he holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Teacher at Imperial College and serves as the Chief Research Investigator in the UK. With 25 years of Western experience, including 20 years in Haematology, he has undergone extensive training at various centers and trusts in the UK. His qualifications include a Master's degree in Haemoglobinopathy Science from UCL London and dual fellowships in General Internal Medicine (FRCP) and Haematology (FRCPath).
