Mrs Choudhary has more than fifteen years of consultant-level experience and specialises in the diagnosis and management of all forms of glaucoma. Her surgical practice includes non-penetrating glaucoma procedures such as viscocanalostomy and deep sclerectomy, trabeculectomy, aqueous shunt implantation using the Paul glaucoma implant and Ahmed valve, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) including iStent and Hydrus implantation. She has performed more than 1,500 glaucoma surgeries across her NHS and private practice.

Mrs Choudhary is one of the most experienced surgeons nationally for non-penetrating glaucoma surgery, having performed more than 1,200 non-penetrating glaucoma procedures, including viscocanalostomy and deep sclerectomy. These surgeries are designed to lower eye pressure while reducing some of the risks associated with traditional penetrating glaucoma surgery, offering an important treatment option for appropriately selected patients.

In addition to her glaucoma work, she is an experienced cataract surgeon, undertaking routine and complex phacoemulsification procedures, including cataract surgery combined with glaucoma procedures or MIGS. She also provides general ophthalmic care.

Mrs Choudhary completed her medical degree and early ophthalmic training at the University of Rajasthan, India, followed by higher ophthalmology training at St Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool, a centre recognised for its work in non-penetrating glaucoma surgery. She was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2010.

She is involved in clinical and basic science research on the pathogenesis and management of glaucoma, with presentations and publications at national and international level.
