Throughout his training, he has visited many internationally respected institutions in the USA, Canada, France, and Germany to develop his skills and expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Townley has built an impeccable reputation for a surgeon, being seen as an expert internationally for complex facial reconstruction and corrective treatments for facial palsy. His expertise is recognised as he sits on the Medical Advisory Board for the charity Facial Palsy UK. He is also on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery, and a member of the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
