Mr Wai Yoon is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon with special interest in paediatric and adult deformity. He works at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He treats a vast range of spinal problems, including lumbar spine disorders, back pain, sciatica, spinal infection, spinal tumours, and neck pain.
Mr Yoon completed his undergraduate training at University College London and The Middlesex Hospital and then specialised in Orthopaedic Surgery during the Royal London Hospital Programme. He then went on to undertake a dual Complex Spine Fellowship Training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London and The Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. Mr Yoon has an interest in research, and more impressively he is the chief investigator for both the NIHR MAGEC Rods Metallosis Trial (Early Onset Scoliosis) and Principle Investigator on the NIHR (Better Outcomes for Older People with Spinal Trouble) trial.
Furthermore, he has published his research in several articles and has won many awards over the years, including the Adelaide University Teaching Award and the Spinal Research Stanmore Award.
