At Strathclyde University, he completed a diploma in gait analysis to study lower limb mechanics and the complex relationship between the hip, knee, foot, and ankle. He later received further training in circular frame therapy at Russia's world-renowned Ilizarov Institute in Kurgan, Siberia. In 1998, he became a consultant at the University Hospital Lewisham, and gained fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2003. He then pursued a specialty interest in adult and paediatric lower limb problems at King's College Hospital.
He has a passion for medical education and in 2008, he co-organised the first King's College FRCS (Orth) revision course and the Paediatric Orthopaedic FRCS Orth Revision Course. In 2011, he was appointed as an examiner for the Intercollegiate Board Examination in Orthopaedics.
