He qualified in Medicine from the University of London in 1990 before training in several major London centres in Vascular, Endocrine & General surgery. He has been providing Consultant surgical services for over 20 years and has served on many regional vascular, surgical and training committees. Mr Tomlinson is very experienced across a wide range of complex procedures and specialist areas, and more common problems. He now provides General, Laparoscopic & open surgery for gallstones and hernias, and a range of day case surgical procedures including varicose vein assessments and treatments, removal of minor skin lumps and bumps, cysts, and lipomas. Within the NHS he provided major Vascular arterial surgery and emergency General Abdominal surgery for many years. and specialist Endocrine surgery assessments and surgery for overactive Thyroid, Parathyroid & Adrenal glands, or for nodules or swellings of these glands and led the regional Thyroid cancer network for over 15years. His practice has a strong focus on minimally invasive procedures, patient safety, minimising post-operative problems, and ensuring rapid recovery so that patients can get back to their normal daily lives and activities. Some of the minimally invasive daycase procedures provided include varicose vein procedures, minor surgery for cysts, lumps and skin tags, laparoscopic surgery for hernias, and gallbladder removal to treat gallstones.
