Following his basic surgical training in the West of Scotland, Mr McAlister completed specialist Maxillofacial training in the Trent region, developing a particular interest in head and neck cancer surgery and reconstructive techniques.
Mr McAlister holds NHS consultant positions at both Royal Blackburn Hospital and Royal Bolton Hospital, with a clinical focus on skin cancer of the head and neck. He serves as Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance.
His clinical interests include skin cancer surgery, mole assessment, cosmetic facial and nasal surgery, facial deformity correction, salivary gland surgery, oral cancer screening, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers.
Mr McAlister is a member of several professional bodies, including the British Medical Association and the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
