About Mr Danny Mitry
Mr Danny Mitry graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from Trinity College Dublin before moving to Scotland to complete a PhD in the University of Edinburgh. His PhD was a study of the clinical and genetics associations of retinal detachment, for which he is often cited. Mr Mitry completed his higher surgical training and advanced fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital in . He is currently the retinal lead at the Royal Free Hospital London where he manages a busy tertiary referral practice. Mr Mitry's interests are cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, medical and surgical retinal disease. Mr. Mitry has carried out thousands of cataract, vitreoretinal and laser procedures with outstanding results. He takes pride in his many recommendations by colleagues and patients of his safe, diligent and caring manner as an eminent Ophthalmic Surgeon. Mr Danny Mitry has published over 60 peer reviewed manuscripts in leading Ophthalmology journals including Ophthalmology, IOVS, Archives of Ophthalmology and RETINA. He has held major research grants in pursuit of his academic interests and has been awarded several commendations and prestigious research awards.
