In addition to his clinical work, Mr Bicknell is actively involved in academic research and education. He is a Clinical Reader at Imperial College London and has led research into improving safety in vascular surgery and reducing procedural error. His work has included studies on the use of robotic endovascular catheters, contributing to the first human trials of vascular robotics.
Mr Bicknell holds several professional roles, including President of the British Society of Endovascular Therapy and Chair of the Research Advisory Group for The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of multiple professional organisations, including the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland and the European Society of Vascular Surgery.
He qualified in medicine from the University of Southampton and holds an MD and FRCS.
