About
Upon completion of his Plastic Surgery training at Canniesburn, he undertook the prestigious subspecialist fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at the Professorial Breast Units of the Western and Glasgow Royal Infirmaries. He is one of few UK Plastic Surgeons to have completed an accredited year of subspecialist training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, after which was conferred an MPhil for his postgraduate research into minimising scarring in wound healing and breast implant surgery.
Ben Chew is passionately involved in the training of future Consultant Plastic Surgeons and was awarded an Honorary FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for outstanding service to the training of Specialty Registrars in Plastic Surgery. He currently serves as a faculty instructor of the Canniesburn Prefellowship, Microsurgery and Flap courses. He is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Glasgow as well as the undergraduate programme director at the Canniesburn Unit.
