Mr Alazzam undertook a BSGE travelling fellowship to train in robotic surgery in Cork, Ireland, and an ESGO travelling fellowship to train in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Oscar Lambret Centre in Lille, France.

Their main area of interest is health innovation and technology. They are a member of several national and international societies. Mr Alazzam has previously served as a council member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and has chaired the guidelines and robotics subcommittees.
