About Dr Mary Gayed
Dr Mary Gayed is a Consultant Rheumatologist based at University Hospital Birmingham. She qualified in medicine at the University of Birmingham and completed her specialist training in rheumatology in the West Midlands, alongside obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Research. She specialises in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of rheumatological conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Dr Gayed is also highly experienced in performing soft tissue and joint injections as part of comprehensive patient care. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Gayed plays an active role in medical education as a member of the West Midlands Deanery training committee, contributing to the coordination and development of higher specialist training programmes. She is also actively involved in research and serves as an investigator in several clinical trials and registries, particularly in the areas of inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue diseases, helping to advance understanding and treatment within her field.
