Implantologie
Verloren gegangene Zähne werden heute am besten mit Implantaten ersetzt. Dabei werden kleine Metallstifte in den Kieferknochen eingesetzt, auf die Kronen oder Brücken befestigt werden können. Zahnimplantate fühlen sich an und verhalten sich wie natürliche Zähne und sind somit die beste Lösung für optimalen langfristigen Zahnersatz.


Parodontologie (Behandlung von Parodontitis)
Parodontitis bezeichnet als Sammelbegriff entzündliche und nicht-entzündliche Erkrankungen des Zahnhalteapparates. Sie entsteht durch einen bakteriellen Mikrofilm (Plaque) auf den Zähnen, bei dem aggressive Keime zunächst das Zahnfleisch angreifen, das sich rötet, anschwillt und blutet. In der Folge löst es sich von den Zähnen, so dass sich ein Zwischenraum bildet – die so genannte Zahnfleischtasche. In den Zahnfleichtaschen können sich wiederrum Bakterien ansammeln, die schlussendlich zu einem Rückgang des Knochens führen, wodurch die Zähne mit der Zeit locker werden und verloren gehen. Je nach ausmaß der Parodontitis werden verschieden Behandlungen angesetzt von Taschenreinigungen bis zu offenen Parodontitis-Behandlungen bei sehr tiefen Zahnfleischtaschen.
