About Mr Mark Roussot
Mr Mark Roussot is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee surgery and the management of knee-related conditions. He provides care for a wide range of patients, including those with: • sports injuries • degenerative joint disease • complex ligament injuries His clinical practice includes: • knee arthroscopy • meniscal repair • anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction • treatment of multiligament knee injuries • cartilage restoration • joint preservation procedures • osteotomies • partial, total, and revision knee replacement surgery. Mr Roussot completed his specialist orthopaedic training in 2017 and holds two master’s degrees in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. He subsequently undertook fellowship training and gained consultant-level experience at University College London Hospital, where he was involved in the development and application of robotic surgical techniques and the treatment of both elite and recreational athletes. He performs robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery at Spire Portsmouth Hospital and is part of the multidisciplinary team at the regional Major Revision Centre at Queen Alexandra Hospital. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Roussot is actively involved in research and medical education. He has contributed to textbook chapters and peer-reviewed publications on knee reconstruction and robotic joint replacement techniques. His current research interests include the application of artificial intelligence in arthroscopic surgery and sustainability in orthopaedics. He also serves on the Education Committee of The Bone & Joint Journal and leads audit and quality improvement initiatives at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
