He achieved the American Board in Pulmonary Medicine in 1996 and the Canadian Board in Pulmonary Medicine in 1997. Furthermore, he is the founder and former head of the Saudi Association for Pulmonary Hypertension and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at the University of British Columbia.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Idrees has developed a profound interest in pulmonary vascular diseases, particularly pulmonary hypertension. He is a pioneer in establishing specialised care for these conditions in the region. His dedication to medical advancement is reflected in his extensive research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has been internationally recognised for his contributions, receiving accolades from the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute and being honoured by the Spanish Ministry of Health.
