About

Lia Brown is an experienced Psychotherapist in London, with over two decades of experience in working with adult individuals, couples, and groups. She offers consultations, short-term, and open-ended psychotherapy, providing swift and confidential private appointments at Schoen Clinic Chelsea.

Lia's passion lies in exploring the intricate connection between past relationships and how they shape present connections with oneself and others. She specialises in addressing underlying issues manifesting in symptoms such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship challenges, sexual difficulties, eating disorders, addictions, ADHD, personality, and attachment issues.

Employing an integrative humanistic approach, Lia promotes well-being by empowering her patients to enhance self-awareness and agency through exploring emotions, disruptive patterns, and hidden narratives. This process often leads to a renewed perspective, improved self-esteem, healthier relationships, and a clearer sense of purpose and fulfilment in both professional and personal life.

Lia's journey began with training in Fine Art and Design, followed by education in Psychotherapy at The Institute of Psychosynthesis. She further developed her skills in Couples Counseling and Psychotherapy at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, and expanded her expertise through Group Therapy training at the Institute of Group Analysis. Lia is a psychodynamic and analytic therapist who also incorporates various other modalities including CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT, Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy RO DBT, Internal Family Systems, and is an ADHD Clinical Services Provider.

She is accredited by the UKAHPP and registered with UKCP. Lia is also a certified eclectic Shamanic Practitioner, integrating this wisdom into deepening therapeutic work. She has a long-standing interest in the holistic connection between the mind and body, drawing insights from diverse spiritual traditions including Shamanism, Non-Duality, Buddhism, and more.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
