Gastroenterology
About
Dr. White completed his medical degree at the University of Birmingham and underwent specialist clinical and academic training in the Midlands.
Dr. White has a specialist interest in pre-cancerous digestive conditions of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, such as Barrett’s oesophagus, gastric atrophy, and H. pylori-associated disease. He was instrumental in the development of a non-invasive oesophageal tissue-sampling device, which is now widely used in clinical practice. As an advanced endoscopist, Dr. White performs over 1,000 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures annually, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, managing a wide range of GI conditions.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. White is an active researcher and educator. He completed a PhD at the University of Nottingham, focusing on endoscopic techniques to identify individuals at risk of complications from H. pylori infection and the immune system’s response to eradication therapy.
Dr. White is currently working on new UK guidelines for managing H. pylori infection. He has authored over 40 publications and received multiple prestigious research grants. He is also involved in teaching and assessment at the University of Nottingham and speaks at both national and international conferences.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
