About

Dr Jennifer Roxburgh is a compassionate and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Eleos Clinic. She completed her medical degree at the University of Glasgow in 2008 and completed her specialist training in child & adolescent psychiatry in 2020.

Dr Roxburgh has worked within NHS psychiatric services since 2010 and specifically in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the West of Scotland since 2015 where she worked within generic CAMHS, learning disability CAMHS, regional adolescent inpatient unit, paediatric liaison psychiatry and forensic CAMHS. She has expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of mental health and neurodevelopmental presentations, ranging in complexity and severity.

Her decision to specialise in the field of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry was driven by her observations of the profound impact that unaddressed mental health difficulties and neurodivergence can have on individuals throughout their lives. Dr Roxburgh firmly believes in the importance of early recognition and appropriate management to provide children and adolescents with the best possible trajectory in life.

Dr Roxburgh recognises the influence of various factors such as historical and current circumstances, family history, and environmental influences on a child's wellbeing. She is passionate about empowering families to take control of their health and wellbeing, emphasising the significance of lifestyle factors including nutrition, sleep, exercise, and meaningful activities in achieving optimal mental health outcomes.

At Eleos Clinic, Dr Roxburgh typically sees patients with anxiety problems, OCD, trauma related difficulties, ADHD and mood problems. During consultations, Dr Roxburgh maintains a flexible and conversational approach, adapting to the communication style and needs of each child or young person. She strives to create a relaxed and safe atmosphere, making the most of the appointment time to ensure effective and meaningful interactions.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Roxburgh is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, where she actively participates in peer supervision, appraisal, and revalidation processes to ensure the highest standards of care for her patients.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
